A self-proclaimed Reasonable Hedonist, Patricia is establishing herself as one of the country’s leading authorities on self-care and comfort. Patricia points out that Americans are so busy that many are chronically stressed, lack enough personal time, and are overcome with worry and anxiety. To compensate, people often overindulge in alcohol and food and watch too much TV. Patricia labels these draining pursuits as “toxic comforting.”
Patricia assists people in realizing the negative dynamics in their lives and transforming their lifestyles to nurture their spirits, bodies and souls. Through her seminar and coaching programs, clients are shown how to achieve what they want in life with an emphasis on health, balance and fulfillment.
From her early life Patricia became focused on helping others, in part from her personal experiences. She was an overweight child who constantly dieted as an adult. While her self-esteem sometimes hovered on the edge, she also had a natural optimism and a keen desire to be healthy in every aspect of her life.
After her 23-year marriage ended, Patricia transformed her life and lost 40 pounds in the process. During this time, she met her partner Michael Burgos. Michael is a marriage and family counselor with two master’s degrees, who has endured several life-threatening and -challenging circumstances including childhood kidney cancer, adult cancer, and ADHD. Realizing their creative possibilities, Patricia and Michael created The Book of Comforts to help others create balanced lives even in times of hardship and loss.
Through her speaking, writing, and coaching, Patricia Alexander awakens people to live life fully. A radiant and inspiring speaker with a keen sense of humor, she imparts insights and techniques that are practical and instantly useable. Patricia has an incredibly powerful message, one that will only continue to be more essential in the coming years.
