Olive Evans

Olive Evans was born in England and graduated from Goldsmiths' College, London. She moved to California with her family in 1968 and attended CSU Dominguez Hills. After graduating, she worked extensively with young children as a teacher, writer, storyteller and dirctor of storytime theater.
Olive wrote he first book of poems, "The Thrift Store Bears," published in 2004, to help her through breast cancer treatment. The book features teddy bears she rescued from thrift stores over the years. "Adventures with the Thrift Store Bears" is the second book about the bears, who live with Olive and her husband in their old redwood house by the sea.
