Margien Burns was born in Danville, Illinois, the fourth and youngest daughter of Paul and Judy Burns. When she was four years old, her family moved to Southern California.
Margien graduated from California State University Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio-TV-Film production, with an emphasis on creative writing. She began working at Paramount Studios as an assistant to writers and producers on TV shows including MacGyver, Family Ties, Dear John and Star Trek Next Generation. For the last 16 years, she has been employed by Walt Disney Studios and has worked in live action production, animation and human resources administration.
Margiens father died in June, 1997. A year later, still grieving deeply, she received her first message from Paul Burns' spirit, and they have been talking ever since. "A Hug from Heaven," her first book, is based these inspirational messages.
Her second book, The Little Girl Dressed in Blue, was co-written with her mother, the little girl dressed in blue, Judy Burns. It is her mothers own story of her incredible childhood adventures in 1930s Clarksburg, WV.
Currently, she is working with her sister, Judy (a television writer and producer), on her next book, "Harry Potter and the Muggle Magic of Adapting Books to Films."
