Judy Ryan
Judy Ryan is a 47-year-old cancer survivor who recently celebrated a 30-year milestone. It was in 1977, when at the age of 17, she was diagnosed with a not-so-common malignant facial cancer. Her journey of multiple surgeries, health challenges, and professional success are documented in her memoir, A Face In Time.
As a passionate believer and advocate of natural beauty and healthy lifestyle, she lends support to others of facial difference and adversity through her website: Beneath the Surface, www.beneaththesurfaceweb.com. Confidence building and self-respect are the core qualities she helps foster in others when confronted by facial injury or disease.
Ryan also supports and lends a hand to the nationwide tax-exempt public charity, AboutFace USA. This organization is one that she embraces for all it does to educate, serve and support adults and families with children affected by various facial differences.
A native of Los Angeles, with a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising from Woodbury University, Judy has enjoyed a career in retail for over twenty years, and now resides in Monrovia, California.
